2008 Family Reunion

The 2008 Roark reunion was great, all except for the driving of 9 hours. They are all the best people you would want to be around. We had so much fun, other than the fact we found out his cousin, Darlene, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and only has about 6 months to live. What a bummer. That means she will not be around for the next family reunion. That sucks. Maybe next years will be in June so we can go to the other side of the family's reunion also.
We also went into the mountains at Tim and Nell's home. That was a trip in itself. We drove up some of the windiest roads ever. Going up during the day was not too bad. It was the going down, in the pitch black night, with someone driving behind us with their high beams on. Boy, he also wanted to driver faster than the speed limits. I am so glad I went to the bathroom before we left. I would have peed my pants. Kathy B., you know what I mean, I am sure. I was so nervous and was so glad to get back to the hotel, which by the way was more expensive than last year.
When I get more batteries for my camera, I will post some of the pictures.

Happy Birthday to Me

Well, today is Friday August 15th and it is my birthday. OK, so another year older but that's ok. I had a wonderful day Thursday. My daughter and son-in-law came for a visit so all 4 of us were together. The only ones missing were my son David and his significant other Karissa. It was wonderful. We went sightseeing in Tybee Island at the beach. Then, we went to downtown Savannah. We walked around for hours and even found the Lady and The Sons Restaurant. SO, we went there for dinner. And what made it more special was, the waitress sang "Happy Birthday" to me with a Jazz B'Day song, and boy did it take forever. I thought my candle on my special dessert was going to melt all over. But, what the heck, it was special anyway.

Weight Loss

Seems like working out is hard. But when you look at the results, it seems worth it all. I work out at least 4 times a week and try to do pilates on Wednesdays. In Philippians 4:13 it says..."I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I believe this with all my heart and soul. Without him, I can do nothing. Believe this also and you too can be saved.

Days Without Sun

I do not like these days when the sun is not out. It takes time out of my sunbathing. My husband Dave calls me a "Suncatcher". I guess I can consider myself lucky compared to the people in the Northeast. They are getting hammered with more rain than they know what to do with it. There is no where for it to go. GOD BLESS all those people.
